Albanian director Terezi has developed The Consequences of Freedom via Goethe-Institut’s FIRST FILMS FIRST and, the producer is another FFF alumnus Florenc Papas, who is the director of the second-ever completed film of FFF, The Open Door.

The Albania-Kosovo co-production project has already secured funding from Albanian National Film Center, Albanian Radio-Television and, Kosovo National Film Centre.

Jury statement follows: ‘At a time when Europe itself is facing danger, we want to award a project questioning this transition into the new world after the fall of the wall. Tradition versus the modern world, brotherhood versus individualism, life versus death.’

‘During isolated Albania’s transition from communism, a family of five is murdered by two brothers in what is classified as a robbery. At least this is what was reported on the news in the early 1990s.’
