01 Oct FFF’s ZUHAL goes ANTALYA FF for NATIONAL PREMIERE!
We are so glad to share with you that the 5th completed film which was developed within the framework of Goethe-Institut’s FIRST FILMS FIRST training program;
Nazlı Elif Durlu’s feature debut ZUHAL will have its national and world premiere in the national competition of Turkey’s oldest film festival Antalya Golden Orange FF.
The film is a Turkey-Germany co-production produced by Anna Maria Aslanoğlu (istos film, TURKEY) and co-producers are Jamila Wenske (Achtung Panda!, Germany), Tanay Abbasoğlu (TN Yapım, TURKEY), Tolga Karaçelik (Karaçelik Film, TURKEY) and Öykü Canlı (Yumurta Yapım Sanat, TURKEY)
ZUHAL is an upper-middle-class woman with a nice job and house in Istanbul and a long-term relationship. Her ordinary life, spent with daily troubles, business rushes and phone calls with her boyfriend on a trip, changes when she hears a cat meowing one night. Because of this meow, which she believes is coming from a flat, she is forced to communicate with her neighbours, whom she deliberately avoids. However, she cannot convince anyone of the existence of this voice.
The film is financed by Turkish-German Co-Production Development Fund and Film Independent (Fiscal Sponsor) as well as having been awarded in co-production markets like When East Meets West and Meetings On The Bridge.
