OGNJEN SVILICIC

Ognjen Svilicic was born in 1971 in Split, Croatia.

He has made five feature-length motion pictures. His film “Sorry For Kung Fu” had premiere on 55 Berlinale Forum, and has won several international awards. His film “Armin” also had premiere on Berlinale Forum, after that he went on more than 100 international film festivals and won more than twenty awards among them “East of the West” award at Karlowy Vary and FIPRESCI award for best foreign film at Palm Springs. His last film “These are the Rules” had premiere in Venice film festival in Orrizonti section, and won the award for best actor and later best director at Warsaw Film Festival. He was also a scriptwriter for some internationaly recognized movies like “Slovenian girl” and “Nightlife” or regional box office hits like “We will be the World Champions”. He has created a few very popular Croatian TV serias. He is professor at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, he is teaching screenwriting.
