\’The Bus to Amerika is about an adventurous refugee boy called Sefran who daydreams about escaping the camp for Amerika. An unfortunate religious transgression propels him into the grown-up world where he must face himself and his people to find acceptance.\’
The project is Derya Durmaz\’s debut feature which was developed via Goethe-Institut\’s FIRST FILMS FIRST and attended many markets including the Berlinale Co-Production Market.
Now the project is selected for the Alentours Forum which showcases French and German language projects. The Bus to Amerika has now transformed completely into an animation project.
