10 Jul FFF’s BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS for THESSALONIKI goes to CANNES!
Director Asimina Proedrou developed her debut BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS within the first edition of Goethe-Institut’s FIRST FILMS FIRST program.
Film is now in post-production phase and among the six work-in-progress titles from Greece which will be pitched in Cannes Marche Du Film as part of Thessaloniki Film Festival Goes to Cannes.
Pitching sessions will be screened on July 12th Monday from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm in the afternoon in Cannes in Palais des Festivals – Palais K and online for professionals on their local time zones.
BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS tells the story of a middle-aged fisherman who’s afraid of going to jail for a petty fraud he once committed, and starts wroking for the local mafia, trafficking migrants across the border lake.
Film is a production of Greece and Germany with co-production of North Macedonia. It has already been supported by Eurimages, ZDF/ARTE, ERT, Greek Film Center, North Macedonia Film Agency, MEDIA Creative Europe, SEE Cinema Network.
