First Films First

Selcen Ergun’s debut project SNOW and the BEAR started the development journey four years go by receiving the Best Project Award at Meetings On The Bridge of Istanbul Film Festival. Afterward, the director developed her project via four modules of Goethe-Institut’s FIRST FILMS FIRST training program.

In time, Snow and the Bear kept receiving numerous development and work-in-progress awards internationally and grants from Turkey, Germany, Serbia, and finally the prestigious Eurimages support.

After four years, Snow and The Bear received the Best Project award again at Meetings On The Bridge which is worth 3000 Euro, but this time in the work-in-progress section as well as the FragmanHouse award which is presented for the first time this year that includes the editing of the trailer.

The statement of the jury follows: ‘Best Project Award goes to Snow and the Bear for a strong author vision, complex and deep storytelling that brings together many important themes of contemporary Turkey and reflex human nature within an uncompromising nature.’

Our curiosity keeps growing like the piling of snow.

The film is in the post-production phase. For more info about Snow and The Bear click here.
